Love | Fear | Anguish

Alexandra Levasseur believes that women still remain the symbol for the expression
of universal emotions such as love, fear, anguish and unrequited desire which are the
central themes for her art. Levasseur explores both, the loneliness and the bipolarity
of the human state of existence through the representation of memories.

“I’m looking for relations between the comfort of the body and the quietness of
the spirit and how the surrounding environment can affect states of mind.
This has pushed me to further my thoughts on the idea of relationships
as the basic component of all that exists and the life itself.”

MOURNFUL--WOMAN

THIS!…
For a long time I wanted to share this amazing collection Mournful-Woman with you.
Besides the fact that he; EBRAHIM NOROOZI  is one of the major sources of inspiration for me in photography, he also touches me personally with this work. This collection, the portraits of women from my hometown Khorramabad (Iran). The collection features the rituals of mourning season of Muharram in Lorestan Province, especially in Khoramabad in Iran.

The story behind this collection:
Khoram-Abad, Iran - In different Shiite areas, mourning for Moharam takes various forms. One of the traditional ways in Iran is 'fourthly pulpits', held every year in Lorestan province, especially in Khoram-Abad, a city 310 miles away from Tehran. In this ceremony on the ninth day of Moharam, the first and most important Shiite month, women from different classes gather barefoot - traditionally wearing black mourning clothes - with covered faces and go to 40 different pulpits called 'saqa-khaneh'. They light a candle in silence to show their respects for Imam Husain, the grandson of the Prophet Mohammad who was slain in battle during the month, while waiting for him to accept their wishes.

Just watch and let this collection amaze you.

STELLA STELLA STELLA JEAN! YOU STOLE MY HEART...

S T E L L A  J E A N

Stella Jean is a young and talented Italo-Haitian designer who began her career in fashion by working as a model for Egon Von Fürstenberg, but soon discovered her real creative calling. Her clothes must tell something about her, but at the same time their function is to make their wearer beautiful.

I am very impressed and excited about the spring summer 2013 collection! especially the styling direction of the lookbook which fuses designs together.
Very colorful and strong, retro sunnies, cinched waists, Clutches, statement necklaces, hats , colorful print turbans and much more, all used to style up the collection. Pay attention on how stripes, polka dots and graphic tees are paired up with prints. Jewels and accessories complete the looks by adding an extravagant and very glamorous touch: the bangles in terry cloth and gilt studs are worn in numbers, alternating with Fifties-style tube bangles with big bells, for a choreographic chargé effect.
I am totally in LOVE!
